CNM Applied Technologies graduates are always in demand in fields that can’t be outsourced.

These are just some of the Trades programs you can get started with at CNM:

    • Aviation Maintenance—CNM's FAA (Federal Aviation Administration)-approved programs can prepare you for certification as an Airframe or Powerplant Technician. The average salary in Albuquerque for aircraft mechanics and service technicians was $64,120 in 2020.
    • Carpentry—CNM Carpentry grads continue to be in demand, with 82% of students employed after graduation and carpenters in the Albuquerque area earning $19.33 an hour on average.
    • Diesel Equipment Technology—CNM's Diesel Equipment certificate and associate degree prepare students to work on medium to heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment. In 2020, the average annual salary for truck mechanics and diesel engine specialists was $47,560. A local and national shortage of technicians means grads will always be in demand.
    • Photovoltaic (Solar Energy)—The future is bright for solar! Students who pursue this degree will be trained and ready to enter the photovoltaic and electrical installation field. Eighty-six percent of CNM Electrical grads are employed after finishing their program, and the median yearly salary for an electrician in the Albuquerque metro area is $46,949.
    • Solar Electric (PV) Certificate of Achievement—This certificate of achievement can be completed in as little as one term at CNM. Photovoltaic installation is a high growth field, and the average rate for a photovoltaic installer in the Albuquerque area in 2020 was $20.80 an hour.
