A job helping others is more than a paycheck: it's a calling and a purpose. CNM is here to help you get started!

What's your calling? Give back with one of these CNM programs:

  • Community Health Worker—The community health worker certificate can be completed in as little as two semesters and allows students to go directly into the workforce with hands-on skills. Eighty-one community health worker positions open up in the Albuquerque metro area every year, and the median salary for a community health worker was $42,000 in 2020 according to ONET.
  • Fire Science—CNM's Fire Science degree helps you master all skills you need to become an entry-level firefighter, including an EMT-Basic certification. Almost 100 new firefighters are needed every year in the Albuquerque area, and the median salary is $41,689.
  • Health Information Technology—CNM's Health Information Technology degree prepares students to become a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). RHITs in the Albuquerque area earn an average annual salary of $44,950.
  • Health Services Management—The Health Services Management associate degree provides you with the foundation to become a health services manager and go on to a four-year degree in Healthcare Administration (bachelor degree strongly encouraged after CNM). The average salary for a health services manager in Albuquerque was $104,280 in 2020.
  • Human Services (Pre-Social Work)—CNM's Human Services associate transfers seamlessly to New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico University to put you halfway to a bachelor of social work (BSW) when you transfer. Choose coursework from substance abuse counseling to juvenile justice to community health to learn more about the populations you'd like to serve as a social worker and gain real-world experience in your practicum.
  • Paramedic—Paramedics are the first to arrive on the scene to provide a high level of medical care to patients in need. Paramedics are in high demand in the Albuquerque metro area, with 60 jobs opening each year and a median salary of $36,456.
