High School Equivalency (HSE) Program

The New Mexico Public Education Department has approved two HSE tests, the GED and HiSET. Passing either of these tests will qualify you for an official New Mexico HSE credential.

The HSE Program offers instruction for you if you are an adult who wishes to obtain a HSE diploma by taking one of the two exams approved by New Mexico for high school equivalency:

  • The General Education Development (GED) test; or
  • The High School Equivalency Test (HiSET).

CNM's HSE preparation program offers:

  • Non-credit leveled classes in language arts, math, science, social studies, and HSE in Spanish.
  • Traditional classroom instruction, distance learning, and tutoring in small groups or one-on-one.

HSE classes are currently being online and in person. The cost is $10 registration fee per term. Learn more about the HSE Testing process.
