July 16, 2015

The passage of Bond C means that CNM will receive $10 million that will go toward a major renovation of Smith Brasher Hall, one of CNM’s oldest buildings that is home to many of the college’s information technology and business programs.

The renovation will include upgrades to the outdated technology infrastructure in order to establish a state-of-the-art technology environment that will greatly enhance learning and better prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow. The renovation will also include mechanical upgrades that lead to much more energy efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, which will save energy and money for taxpayers and the college.

A new entrance and more pedestrian-friendly walkways that better connect students to other areas of the college are also included in the renovations plans.

Overall, Bond C will provide $139 million for construction and renovation projects at colleges and universities across the state.
