Yulia Cole: 2016-17 Distinguished Faculty Member Award Winner

Jan. 26, 2017 -- Yulia, a full-time faculty member in the School of Health, Wellness & Public Safety and a 2016-17 Distinguished Faculty Member Award Winner, strives to establish a learner-centered environment in the classroom and in the clinical settings with an emphasis on individual strengths and needs.

She consistently evaluates the effectiveness of her teaching and adjusts her instruction methods based on the results of her students’ performance and evaluations.

To support student success, Yulia identifies students at risk and initiates early interventions to foster improved academic performance and retention. She tailors her teaching to best suit her students’ strengths and learning styles while maintaining a culture of consistency, clarity, and academic rigor. Yulia provides guidelines and timely feedback to students and is always available for questions. Additionally, Yulia works on course development, mentors faculty, participates in peer observations and evaluations, and serves on CNM’s College Curriculum Committee.  Yulia is truly an exceptional instructor.
