April 15, 2015 -- The Student Academic Assessment Committee (SAAC) is conducting a review of the learning outcomes associated with the CNM General Education Core Curriculum.

Based on recent survey feedback from full-time faculty and area employers, SAAC has developed the suggestions for revisions. SAAC would like to get faculty feedback on these suggestions through a brief, anonymous survey that will be available through April 22. To see the current Gen Ed outcomes side-by-side with the State’s outcomes, click here.

In addition, SAAC has scheduled two 45-minute open-forum workshops to discuss the suggested revisions: Workshop 1 at 8:30-9:15 a.m. on Friday, April 17, in LSA 103, and Workshop 2 at 1:00-1:45 p.m. on Friday, April 17, in LSA 103. Faculty are invited to make suggestions, express concerns, get questions answered, and enjoy some light refreshments.

SAAC will consider input from the survey and workshops to refine and/or modify the committee’s suggestions before sending a final proposal forward for administrative approval. The Gen Ed outcomes review process is scheduled to recur every six years, and outcomes approved this year will be implemented in the 2016-18 catalog.
