PPD, ITS Join Forces to Raise Funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities

November 5, 2015 -- Members of CNM’s Physical Plant Department (PPD) and Information Technology Services (ITS) joined forces a few weeks ago to sell t-shirts for a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico. The t-shirts, which cost $15 each, carried the wording “2015 Share the Love, Share a Night.”

On Oct. 30 the CNM employees wore the t-shirts in celebration of the Ronald McDonald House’s 33rd anniversary and had a photo taken of the participants. The two departments sold more than 100 t-shirts collectively. Each shirt purchased helps provide a night of lodging for families from New Mexico and surrounding areas.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico is a nonprofit organization that provides a temporary home away from home in Albuquerque for families with ill children. It runs a 30- bedroom lodging facility located near many of Albuquerque’s hospitals and medical treatment facilities. Rooms are provided to families with ill children at low or no cost and the house provides the families with services, such as complimentary laundry and meals each day for up to five family members. The families staying at the house are welcome to stay anywhere from one night to several months.
