Lots of Fun Predicted for This Year’s CNM’s Got Talent

November 6, 2014 -- An animated story teller, singer and a magician are among the acts scheduled for the CNM’s Got Talent competition which will be held Nov. 20 from 6-8 p.m. in Smith Brasher Hall, Room 100. The event is a fundraiser for the CNM Leading the Way campaign.

“We expect this year’s event to be lots of fun with the CNM community showing off their talents,” said Amanda Vital, chair of the event’s production team. “There is still plenty of time to sign up to perform, so don’t be shy.”

Welding students and film schools students are getting in on the fun, too. The welding students are making the trophies that will be awarded to winners. Film school students will be setting up the stage and filming the event.

Tickets for CNM”s Got Talent are $3 for students and $5 for non-students. Refreshments, including frito pies, nachos, popcorn, candy and sodas, will be available.

This year’s production team consists of Vital and Marshall Quam, co-chairs; Julie Avitia; Shelby Villegas; Clyde Ortiz; Deana Tenorio and Kathy Duquette. Leading The Leading the Way chairs for this year are LouAnn Lundgren and Ann Lynn Hall. Hosting this year's event is David Jackson, a faculty member in the School of Business & Information Technology.
