Join the Fun at Third Annual Heritage 5K Fun Run and 1-Mile Walk

June 7, 2016 -- The CNM community and general public are invited to participate in the third annual Honor Your Heritage 5K Fun Run and 1-Mile Walk on Sunday, June 12 at the CNM Montoya Campus. The event is hosted by CNM’s Native American Task Team.

“This fun run and walk are designed to promote Native American heritage and other cultures as well as encourage healthy lifestyles, staying fit and being active,” said Teresa Billy, event coordinator.

There is no charge to participate in the run or walk.

Registration is from 7-7:50 a.m. at the Montoya Campus, H Building, 4700 Morris NE. The 5K run will begin at 8 a.m., and the one mile walk at 8:15 a.m. The course will weave around the Montoya Campus and nearby El Oso Grande Park.

The first 25 people who cross the finish line will receive free T-shirts, and the top overall finishers will be awarded prizes. Refreshments will be available after the race for event participants.

The Native American Task Team is seeking 15 volunteers to assist with the event. Volunteers will assist with registration, mid- and post-refreshments and event assignments.
