Hotel Chaco, inspired by Chaco Canyon, is situated in the heart of Albuquerque near historic Old Town and the Sawmill District. Heritage Hotels anticipate the new hotel will achieve the coveted five diamond status.

This is one of several hotels that the Introduction to Tourism class will tour this term. Other Heritage Hotels & Resorts properties include The Nativo Hotel, Hotel Albuquerque and the Hyatt Downtown. Heritage Hotels & Resorts is also an industry partner for the Running Start for Careers program.

While touring the facility, the students also met with Adrian Montoyo, general manager of the Hotel Albuquerque, for a motivating discussion on careers in Hospitality and Tourism.

The students will also have an opportunity to apply for entry level positions with Heritage Hotels & Resorts.

“There is a lot of interest, and the students are excited for the possible opportunity of working for the hotel chain,” Laughlin said.
