Get Creative and Participate in CNM Holiday Card Contest

Students, faculty and staff invited to design a CNM holiday card.
October 17, 2019

Would you like to see your own creation on CNM‘s holiday card this December?

This year’s card design will be chosen through a contest that is open to students, faculty and staff. You don’t have to be an artist to create a winning card. Don’t be shy! All are invited to enter. Multiple entries will be accepted.

The Brief

CNM is in a time of transition. Our President, Dr. Kathie Winograd, has announced her retirement. A new president will be named in November. When people receive the card, we want them to feel:

  • Optimistic about the future
  • Joyful
  • Proud of their connection to CNM
  • Appreciated and valued

Ideas to Consider (just suggestions – you don’t need to cover them all)

  • Embracing change
  • Looking and moving forward
  • Possibilities
  • Welcoming a new year
  • Community
  • Gratitude

While this is a holiday card, its main purpose is to celebrate the CNM community. Entrants should be mindful of CNM’s diversity and all the ways in which people celebrate at the holidays. It will be sent as both a physical card and electronically.

We’re looking for entries that can be printed in a 2-dimensional format. Examples include photography, paint, print or drawing. Entries in a 3-dimensional format that can be directly photographed for distribution as a 2-dimensional holiday card will also be considered.

Entries due no later than Nov. 10.

Please submit to Angela Sims at or drop off entries in the Ted Martinez Building, Room 202, on Main Campus. The winning artist will be given credit and will be presented with a framed copy. All artwork will remain property of CNM.

We look forward to seeing your creation!
