Female Students Pursuing Degrees in Nontraditional Fields Honored

May 4, 2016 -- Many female students at CNM choose fields of study considered non-traditional -- careers that have been traditionally dominated by men. Six such women were honored at the Women in Non-Traditional Careers (WIN) Awards Celebration last week.

The keynote speaker was Xeturah Woodley, assistant professor at New Mexico State University where she teaches learning design and technology, and a former CNM employee.

Receiving awards at the event were Brittany McDowell, Student Leader/Community Advocate; Claudia Delgado, Future Leader; April Vezie, Nontraditional Student of the Year; Stephanie Begaye, Student of Promise; Vanessa Baez, Outstanding Student; and Carol Martinez, CNM Employee Advocate.
