The Heading Home Initiative is a city-wide collaboration that strives to find homes for people experiencing chronic homelessness.

As part of the event, the Deans Council adopted two families who listed their needs on a request form. The needs are usually clothing or household items.  The families provide favorite colors and sizes needed for the children.

“We’ve done this each Christmas as a way to give back to the community and support programs like Heading Home and other nonprofits,” said Donna Diller, dean of the School of Business & Information Technology.

Erica Volkers, dean of the School of Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences, noted that the Deans Council enjoys helping out families during the holidays –especially opportunities to make the holidays brighter for children.
