Battery Recycling Containers Stationed Around CNM

Jan. 18, 2018 -- As part of CNM’s commitment to sustainability, the Safety Department has placed collection containers for used alkaline batteries throughout CNM’s campuses. These containers are for “alkaline” batteries only and can be used by students and employees.

The Safety Department will collect the containers when full and ensure that the batteries are properly recycled. The containers can be found in the following locations: Main Campus: PS, front desk; SSC-108, front desk; KC, front desk/reception; SRC, library front desk; SRC-203, ACE desk; JS-402X, copy room; TM-104, HR front desk; PPD-102, front desk. Montoya Campus: TW-105, CNM Connect Services desk; I-211, front desk. Westside Campus: MJG, CNM Connect Services desk; WS1, front desk/reception area. Rio Rancho Campus: Front desk/reception area. South Valley Campus: SV1-102, copy room. ATC: ATC-126, library/computer lab. WTC: WTC front desk/reception area.
Remember, if you throw away batteries in regular trash, they will eventually show up in soil, water and air.
