CNM Aviation Maintenance Technology student Audeen Bashista is the recipient of a $1,500 “Searching for Success” scholarship from the Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance (AWAM).

Audeen will receive the check at an AWAM awards breakfast in Dallas on March 7 as part of the Women in Aviation International Conference.

Audeen began the CNM Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program in fall 2013 and is on track to graduate at the end of the 2015 Fall Term. She is working toward an associate degree in AMT and hopes to eventually work as an aviation mechanic on heavy aircraft.

“I have always had a passion for aviation and grew up around small airplanes,” Audeen said. “I studied aeronautics upon graduation from high school and have always been mechanically inclined. I wanted to have a career in aviation my whole life. This is a wonderful opportunity and I am grateful that there is a school in Albuquerque that has enabled me to pursue this.”
