College and Career High School Accepting Applications for 2017-2018

Feb. 17, 2017 -- College and Career High School (CCHS) on CNM’s Main Campus is accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year.

CCHS, a partnership between Albuquerque Public Schools and CNM, is available to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who want to pursue a high school diploma and a CNM certificate or degree simultaneously.

Students take their high school core classes with APS teachers and take their elective classes as dual credit students at CNM. CNM tuition and textbooks are free to the students and their families, which allows students to save significant time and money on a college education. The CNM college credits also transfer to New Mexico universities, and some CCHS students will transfer to a university after their high school/CNM graduation with enough credits to begin as a university junior.

This spring, CCHS expects to graduate 44 seniors who are on track to earn approximately 2,000 college credit hours, or an average of 45 credit hours per student. One-third of all CCHS students are on track to earn a CNM associate degree or certificate.

College and Career High School was the only high school in the state to earn “straight A’s” in every graded category on the New Mexico Public Education Department’s annual school report card last year. You can learn more about this great opportunity for high school students and their families, and access an application, by visiting or by calling (505) 224-4881. You’re also invited to schedule a tour of CCHS.
