CNM Receives Gold Status in NM Family Friendly Business Awards

December 13, 2018

The New Mexico Family Friendly Business Awards recognize organizations that have adopted policies that give New Mexico organizations an edge in recruiting and retaining the best employees. CNM received the Gold Level status along with a variety of organizations throughout New Mexico.

Organizations were judged on a range of family-friendly policies, such as access to health insurance; paid vacation; making reasonable accommodations for pregnant employees; flexible leave time for parents to attend to their kids’ medical or school needs; ensuring proper breastfeeding spaces; and more.

One of CNM’s Strategic Direction goals to achieve by 2020 is to develop a multi-generational approach to serving our community. In support of this Strategic Direction goal, CNM is working to:

  • Expand access to high-quality childcare for the children of our students and employees, and ultimately our community at-large.
  • Provide two-generation learning experiences.
  • Foster higher education matriculation for children of our students and employees.
  • Identify strategies and resources to support student parents.
  • Design a family campus concept.

CNM’s Multi-generational Strategic Direction Team entered CNM into the New Mexico Family Friendly Business Awards.

The Family Friendly New Mexico project has taken a positive approach to transforming workplace policies in the state by offering training and resources on how businesses can adopt more family-friendly policies; awards and recognition for companies that offer their employees family-friendly benefits; and a resource and clearinghouse of information for businesses and community leaders as they develop policies on issues such as paid family leave and help with childcare.
