Intel will be a Strategic Lead Technology Partner and sponsor of what Intel is calling “one of the most exciting innovations unfolding in education in New Mexico.”

As a key partner and sponsor, Intel will contribute funding, technology, equipment and technical support for the STEMulus Center, as well as numerous Intel programs such as “Sparkfun Teacher Training,” a two-day, hands-on training session for teachers on the basics of coding and curriculum development with Intel’s Galileo development boards.

“CNM is very grateful for the generosity of Intel and the vision we share for the future," CNM President Katharine Winograd. "We believe the STEMulus Center has tremendous potential to boost the skills of our region's workforce and add momentum to economic growth in central New Mexico."

The STEMulus Center will be located in Downtown Albuquerque, where it will provide a bold new educational approach to developing the workforce of tomorrow in a strategic location intended to add synergy to the City’s Innovation Central efforts.

The STEMulus Center will provide accelerated educational opportunities; wrap-around support for aspiring entrepreneurs; and it will offer a “maker space” where state-of-the-art technology and labs can be accessed by the public to develop prototypes for business ventures.

The first program to be offered at the STEMulus Center, called “Deep Dive Coding,” will be the first of its kind to be available at a public institution of higher education. Deep Dive Coding is an accelerated, 9-week bootcamp that prepares students for high-tech web development, software development and computer programming jobs that are in high demand in Albuquerque and across the country. Students will attend the bootcamp for nine hours a day, five days a week, for nine weeks, graduating with credentials that make them coveted by companies near and far.

The first Deep Dive Coding bootcamp begins Aug. 11.
