CNM Governing Board Stays Committed to Keeping Tuition Low

CNM’s academic transfer courses (arts and sciences courses) will increase from the current rate of $48.25 per credit hour to $49.50 per credit hour, which is a 2.6 percent increase. For a full-time load of 12 to 18 credit hours, tuition will increase from the current rate of $579 to $594 per term.

Tuition for CNM’s career technical education courses will go from the current rate of $10.50 per credit hour to $14 per credit hour. For a full-time load of 12 to 18 credit hours of CTE courses, tuition will go from $126 to $168 per term. CTE programs range from traditional trades like plumbing and welding to healthcare fields like nursing and respiratory therapy.

Also, CNM’s technology fee will go from the current rate of $3 per credit hour to $4 per credit hour.

“These continue to be very challenging budgetary times for CNM and our state,” CNM President Katharine Winograd said. “Our goal in this budget was to keep tuition as low as possible for our students while showing appreciation for our employees, who for years now have taken on more work with less resources.”

The CNM budget that was approved by the Governing Board allocates funding for a two percent salary increase for faculty and staff.
