Long-time CNM faculty member Kim Wong has ascended to the leadership position of chair for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Program’s (ACBSP) Board of Directors.

The ACBSP is a global business education accrediting body and the only organization to offer accreditation to all levels of collegiate business educational degree programs from associate to doctoral.

“I am very grateful for the opportunities that are being provided by both CNM and ACBSP,” says Kim. “I cannot state enough how supportive everyone has been within the school. CNM has been very generous with helping to provide resources to support my efforts in ACBSP.”

Kim is no stranger to the ACBSP. He has sat on the Board of Directors for the last six years and has been a key player in its operations.

As chair for the ACBSP, Kim has many agenda items that will help solidify the legacy of the organization for years to come. One example is clearly identifying the roles and responsibilities of being a board member.

“I’m a get-things-done kind of person,” he says. “One of the things that I saw that we needed is a ‘How to be a board member manual,’ and I think by creating this we can make it easier for future generations to understand this job.”

Kim says that he will bring plenty of business skills like public speaking and networking back to his classroom from the ACBSP.

“I teach business, business law and some marketing classes, but I also want my students to be comfortable speaking in front of a large group of people and to be able to network with essential players in the business community.” Kim says.
