Culinary Chemistry (Culinary, Food Science)

General Camp Information

Drop-Off and Pick-Up

Core camp hours vary each week, but drop-off and pick-up times will be the same. An adult must sign-in/out your student each day. Drop-off begins at 8 a.m. Students must be picked up by 4:30 p.m. During the drop-off and pick-up periods we will have games and other activities available for campers to work on independently or in small groups.

  • Main Campus Camps: Drop-off and pick-up for Culinary Chemistry, STEMinists, and Focus on Film will take place at the main entrance of the Educational Collaborative (EC) Building on CNM’s Main Campus.
  • Westside Campus Camp: Drop-off and pick-up for Middle School MD will take place at the main entrance of the Michael J. Glennon (MJG) Building on CNM’s Westside Campus.

Adults will be asked to show a photo ID at pickup. We will not release a child to anyone not listed on the child’s pickup list.

Late drop-off/early pick-up: Let us know (either at check-in/out during the week or via email ( if you will be picking up early or dropping off late. Campers will visit different areas of the campus during the day, so may not be in the drop-off/pick-up location.

What to Bring

  • Lunch (that doesn't require refrigeration or reheating)
  • Snacks (there will be two snack breaks each day)
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen and/or hat for outside time
  • Layers (we’ll be inside and outside)
  • Mask (optional)

Cell phones are permitted but must be used during appropriate times and should remain off or on silent during camp activities. When your student is participating in activities, they will not be able to answer their phones.

We recommend leaving valuable items at home. CNM is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

Code of Conduct

  • I am responsible for my own words and actions.
  • I will be respectful of the people and places I encounter.
  • I will not tolerate or participate in bullying (and will always tell a trusted adult if there is a problem).
  • I will use appropriate and respectful language; I will not use obscene, profane, racist, sexist, transphobic, xenophobic, homophobic, or threatening language.
  • I understand that any behavior that could hurt others—their bodies or their feelings—is unacceptable at camp. Kicking, hitting, spitting, fighting etc. are not tolerated.
  • I will not bring the following to camp: Weapons - any object that may cause harm to another, or place another person in fear of their safety, may be considered a weapon; Tobacco products (including vapes); Alcohol; Non-prescribed drugs.

Failure to comply with the code of conduct may result in being removed from camp. No refunds will be given.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols: We will be following CNM’s Campus Safety Protocols during summer camp. Masks are recommended, but not required. All participants must complete a health assessment at drop-off. If your child is feeling sick or exhibiting any symptoms, even if you think it's not COVID-19, keep them home. If your child begins to exhibit symptoms while at camp, we will call you to pick them up.

Cancellation Policy: Refunds can be requested through Eventbrite up to one week before the start of camp. Eventbrite service fees are non-refundable. Camp registrations cancelled less than one week before the start of a camp will not be refunded.

Attending camp with friends or relatives: Depending on enrollment, there may be multiple sections of camp. If your child wishes to be in the same section as a friend/relative who has also registered for camp, please email us at before the registration deadline and we will try to accommodate your request.

Summer Camp Scholarships

Scholarships to reduce the cost of summer camp to $20/week are available based on financial need. To apply, fill out the Summer Camp Scholarship Application before registering on Eventbrite. We will contact you via email within a week of your application. 

About CNM Camps

CNM Camps offers elementary and middle school students a unique learning experience on a college campus and introduces them to potential educational and career pathways in a fun and interactive environment. 

CNM Camps aim to introduce science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and career and technical education to students. The goal is to familiarize students with CTE and STEAM majors while fueling their creativity and wonder.

All students will participate in scheduled learning modules led by CNM faculty.

CNM offers camps during APS Spring, Summer, and Fall breaks.

In each camp students:

  • Explore College and Career options.
  • Test drive labs and classrooms.
  • Engage in interactive, hands-on activities related to college and career fields.
  • Network with CNM faculty, students, alumni, and local employers.
