Article 12: Employee Evaluation

Collective Bargaining Agreement for Security Employees

The primary purpose of employee evaluations will be the improvement of performance. Evaluations shall be based on conduct and performance. However the existence of a performance evaluation system shall in no way preclude disciplinary action being taken regarding substandard work performance or employee misconduct.

Employees will be evaluated by the Chief of Security or other administrative personnel.

Employees will be evaluated at least once a year. The evaluation will be in writing and shall be presented and discussed during a meeting with the employee's evaluator.

Each employee will be given the opportunity to review and discuss the evaluation, and submit written comments on the evaluation report, which shall be made a permanent part of the evaluation.

Employees will sign the evaluation report acknowledging that the employee has read and received a copy of the report.

The evaluation report will be placed in the employees official personnel file.
