If you are a member of a student club, an instructor who is interested in pursuing a location for long-term garden program, or other CNM-affiliated person interested in establishing community gardens, please contact

CNM gardenBuilding upon Central New Mexico Community College’s (CNM) commitment to sustainability - in academics, in architecture, in the use and reuse of resources, and in its relations with the community, the College is providing methods to support partnerships between faculty and facilities for integrating sustainability into curricula. The use of the garden beds is one of many such tools available for faculty, student groups, and other members of the CNM community to utilize for said purposes.

As part of the ‘Campus as a Living Lab’ program applicants will be encouraged to tailor their bed to serve either as part of an academic curriculum, a learning garden or as a research garden.

Kids gardening.Individual Departments at CNM are also allowed to apply for a garden bed if the beds are not adopted out by faculty for any given semester.

Make sure to check out the example of a Campus Living Lab Garden Project at Montoya Campus.

To ensure that an instructor obtains a garden bed for curricular purposes, applications are considered on a first come, first serve basis.

Applications received after March 1 for Spring and Summer semesters will not be considered unless there are still beds available.

Applications for Fall Semester must be received by July 1.
